Caries: Evidence-based Prevention and Management Tools for the Future (1 hour CE)
This course applies evidence based decision making principles as they apply to the effective prevention and management of dental caries. Topics to be explored include:
􀂃 caries risk factors and risk assessment
􀂃 selection of systemic and topical fluorides
􀂃 stannous fluoride- mechanisms of action, therapeutic benefits, formulation challenges and recent advances in chemistry
􀂃 utilization of fluoride varnish, xylitol, and antimicrobials
􀂃 strategies to promote remineralization

Stannous Fluoride: The Next Generation (1 hour CE)
This course reviews the therapeutic benefits of stannous fluoride and provides clinical data to show the therapeutic and cosmetic benefits the Polyfluorite System provides. Topics to be explored include:
􀂃 antimicrobial benefits of stannous fluoride and its effects on plaque, gingival inflammation and bleeding; caries protection; and dentinal hypersensitivity
